How it started…

It was the summer of 2004… Boquete was just another ghost town on the map. Sam Taliaferro was investing in this little town (Boquete). With a population of at least 20k people… Eventually Boquete turned into one of the best destinations to retire, rated #1 by FORBES. On the other hand there was me… A 14 year old doing guided tours, getting crazy tips up to $100 just for having fun. That’s when the idea struck me… Should I do professional guided tours? The dream became a hobby until one day, I met Brad. Brad was one of those Americans seeking for peace in Boquete and hoping to make a living out of his retirement. He hired me and gave me the freedom to create customized tours. I worked for his company for years until one day he told the team: “I have to leave guys… “I need to leave for good.” So he went back to the states and never came back. I was sad. Brad wasn’t just a “boss”. The dude became my friend. Very nice guy. Eventually I met Chris. Oh man… this dude became like a one of my best friends. We spent hours doing tours, creating new products. Chris is one of those guys that likes to create. After a few tries Panama Pathfinders was born. Pathfinders was a new concept. It wasn’t just another tour company. I started taking care of not “just people.” It was more of a standard, but not a financial standard. It was a spiritual, electromagnetic crazy feeling. Where customers became friends and tours became trips. Years of experience with new opportunities. After all what could go wrong? I ended up creating a team of tour guides specialized each in different parts of tourism giving the best experience to each customer.
